It is a sad fact that in today's world a high number of marriages and relationships fail.
Figures recently released show that whilst the number of couples marrying is on the increase
so is the number of divorces every year.
At a time when emotions are running high the first thing that you are often forced to
think about is long terms issues involving finances. The law sets out guidelines to
provide a basis upon which to look at every situation but every family is unique with
different needs and wishes. We try to acknowledge this and to deal with matters in a
supportive and understanding way. A negotiated settlement is the best option and we
will do all that we can to try to keep the heat of out the situation and reach an
amicable solution. However in those cases where this may not be possible we will guide
you through the legal process and aim to explain everything to you to make it an understandable
and less frightening as possible.

When children are involved it can be
especially difficult. Disagreement over contact arrangements
can quickly escalate.
We are happy to discuss any problems and advise on what action can be taken if necessary.
Whether you want advice on divorce, separation, finances or just "what if" we would be pleased
to speak to you. We do not offer public funding for family work but believe that our rates are
competitive. Full details upon request.
A sensitive and flexible approach is adopted in giving advice where difficulty in
relationships and marriage breakdown occurs. Time scales and likely costs are given and
we pride ourselves on being easy to talk to.
We follow the principles laid down by Resolution - formerly the Solicitors Family
Law Association.
